Pevely, MO (August 16, 2008) Randy Korte of Highland, IL rocketed to another UMP Late Model feature win at I-55 Raceway. Korte paced the field for the entire twenty-five laps. Jeff Johns of Belleville, IL kept the pressure on Korte, especially in the closing laps as the two worked lapped traffic. Johns was able to close right up behind Korte as they worked the lapped cars, but Korte proved too strong and crossed the line just ahead of Johns to earn the victory. Tim Manville finished in the third position with Mark Voigt taking fourth and Bryan Collins fifth.
Tim Hancock of Mt. Olive, IL had another outstanding run in the UMP Modified division as he powered his way to victory. Hancock moved past early leader Scott Weber and pulled away to a dominating victory in the closing laps. Ken Rumble, making only his second start of the 2008 season in a UMP Modified at I-55 Raceway, had a spectacular run as he came home with a second place finish. Rumble started ninth and moved through the field to second, but couldn't make a challenge on Hancock for the lead. Scott Weber crossed the line in third with Mike Harrison finishing fourth. Mark Miner completed the top five. Hancock almost didn't even make it the track to race. The tongue on his trailer broke as they were enroute to the track, dropping the front of his trailer down onto the highway. They were able to safely get the truck and trailer to the shoulder and some fellow racers came to assist. They towed his trailer to their shop and then put Hancock's racecar on their pickup and open trailer and got him to the racetrack.

The defending track champion in the Sportsman division, Troy Naeger, powered his way to victory as he led all fifteen laps of the main event. Jeff Herzog claimed the second spot with Jason Keller third. Jimmy Cummins took fourth and Danny Ems completed the top five.

Homer Mooney picked up the win in the Pro 4 Stock division. Jason Crump took second, ending his streak of two consecutive feature wins. Pat Brewer finished in the third spot with Gary Range and Jacob Buechting rounding out the top five.
