Pevely, MO (August 27, 2005) Brian Shirley of Chatham, IL took the lead from his front row outside starting position on the opening lap of the UMP Late Model main event and never looked back. Shirley led all twenty-five laps despite being persistantly challenged by the defending champion and current UMP Late Model National Point Leader Rodney Melvin. Melvin who had passed Shirley earlier in their qualifying heat to take that win, was unable to move past Shirley in the main event and settled for a second place finish. Matt Taylor took the third spot. Brian Wolfmeier and Dave Jumper completed the top five. Randy Korte and Billy Faust were moving their way to the front as they had climbed to the fourth and fifth spots before Korte spun and collected Faust. Both cars were unable to restart the main event. The two drivers battling for the points championship, Ed Dixon and Tim Ratajczyk, both encountered mechanical problems and were unable to finish the main event.

Scott Weber of Festus, MO brought his broom with him tonight as he swept the competition in the UMP Modifieds as he won his qualifying heat, the dash and the main event. Weber battled early on with fellow Festus native Rusty Griffaw as the two battled side by side for the first several laps. The battle behind Weber was fierce as Bobby Bittle, Rusty Griffaw, Brian Wolfmeier and Matt Mevert swapped the second position several times in the second half of the race. The four of them raced two, three and even four wide at times and at the end, Bittle edged Wolfmeier by a nose to claim the second spot. Griffaw followed Wolfmeier across the line in the fourth position with Mevert rounding out the top five. Ray Walsh charged through the field as he finished in the seventh position after starting shotgun on the field in the twenty-fourth spot.

Troy Naeger and Scott Stuppy battled fiercly for the entire fifteen lap distance in the AARA Sportsman main event. Paul Belken and Kent Nations moved into the fight and made it four car battle until the caution came out on lap ten. Once the race was restarted, Naeger, Stuppy and Nations battled down to the wire and crossed the line in that order. Paul Bauman moved his way through the field after starting near the back of the field to finish fourth and Jason Keller rounded out the top five.

Conrad Miner moved past Mike McMullin on the second lap of the AARA Pro 4 Stock main event and pulled away to earn the victory. McMullin took second with Jason Crump third, Dustin Korte fourth and Jeff Ferguson in the fifth position.
