Pevely, MO (June 11th, 2011) Tim Manville left I-55 Raceway highly disappointed after basically giving away a victory in the UMP DIRTcar Late Model feature event. Manville would battle lap after lap with Rickey Frankel for the first sixteen laps of the feature, the two swapping the lead back and fourth the entire time. Then Manville took control and pulled away to a comfortable lead and appeared to be on his way to relatively easy victory. Then disaster struck. As Manville raced through turn four coming for the white flag, he would spin all on his own. Manville would have to go to the tail of the field on the restart. That would give Rickey Frankel the lead on the restart, with Mark Voigt restarting in the second spot. Voigt, who had struggled early on in the feature, slipping back as far as fourth after starting on the outside of the front row, knew his tires and setup were perfect for the two lap shootout to the finish. On the restart, Voigt wasted little time as he shot past Frankel for the lead through turns one and two and proceeded to pull away and take a easy win. Frankel would get the second spot. Tim Ratajczyk had a great run as well and finished in the third position. Jeff Johns would claim fourth with Dewayne Kiefer coming home fifth.

PEVELY, Mo. (June 4) – Brandon Sheppard’s biggest career victory was big in several ways. He won big money, built a big lead and had big smile in victory lane Saturday at I-55 Raceway.

The 18-year-old from New Berlin, Ill., blitzed the field in the Tri-State Challenge finale, reeling off a flag-to-flag victory in 11 minutes at the third-mile oval and lapping all but five competitors. The $5,000 payday was the richest of his career and continued a hot streak that’s given him three Northern Allstars Late Model Series victories in the last five tour events.

Pevely, MO (May 28th, 2011) The I-55 Raceway track crew provided another excellent racing surface and the drivers provided another spectacular evening of racing. Mother Nature kept the rain to the north of the track and high river levels had the water right up to the edge of pit road, but nothing prevented another great night of action.

Pevely, MO (May 21st, 2011) The forecasted wet weather never came to fruition and the sun shined all day with the temperature approaching 90 degrees at I-55 Raceway. With the rain further down south and the cancellation of the Bad Boy 98 at Batesville, Arkansas, several drivers stopped in at I-55 Raceway on their way back home.

Pevely, MO (May 7th, 2011) Tim Manville claimed his first UMP DIRTcar Late Model Feature win of 2011 at I-55 Raceway by edging Jason McBride at the finish line after a great battle between the two of them in the closing laps. Fifteen year old Tyler Reddick started on the pole for the main event and led the first two laps before he had to pit under yellow to change a flat tire. That turned the lead over to Dave Jumper who would lead for several laps before Michael Kloos would steal the lead away. Kloos would only lead down the front stretch as he would suffer a left rear flat as well. Under the same caution, Mark Voigt would have to pull in and change a left rear flat as well. Jumper would pace the field on the restart but he would only lead a couple of more laps before Jason McBrider stormed past him for the lead. McBride would open up a comfortable lead before another caution would slow the field. Under that caution, Jumper’s night would come to an early end as well. On the restart McBride would once again pull away to a big lead. McBride enjoyed almost a full straight-away lead briefly. As he worked lapped traffic, Manville began to reel him in. It would take Manville ten laps to reel in McBride, but with just two laps remaining Manville would take the lead from McBride. McBride would fight back and the two would race side-by-side for much of the final two laps. Manville would hold him off for the win. Tyler Reddick stormed back through the field after changing his flat tire on lap two and would finish third behind McBride. Dewayne Kiefer would get fourth with Tim Ratajczyk rounding out the top five.
